Nebo Elementary School First Lego League
Teams win awards at the Conyers First Lego League Tournament.
Nebo's two First Lego League (FLL) Teams #1735 and #4446 competed against 27 other teams from around Georgia at the Conyers FLL Tournament on Saturday, December 5th at Memorial Middle School.
Team #1735 ("The DolphinBots") consists of ten 4th and 5th Grade students from Nebo Elementary School. The DolphinBots won 1st Place in Robot Design and 7th Place overall.
Team #4446 ("Greased Lightning") consists of then 4th through 6th graders from Nebo Elementary, Austin Middle School, Dobbins, Middle School, Scoggins Middle School, and South Paulding Middle School. The Greased Lightning Team won the 2nd Place overall Champion Award - meaning they had the second highest combined score in the Tournament.
Both The DolphinBots and Greased Lighting advanced to the Georgia Semi-Final First Lego League Tournament at Southern Polytechnic University. The Semi-Finals will be held on Saturday, January 9th, 2010.
The DolphinBots and Greased Lightning had to design a robot to complete missions related to the theme of Transportation. They also had to complete and present a research project and defend their robot design and programming in front of a panel of computer scientists and engineers. The students worked very hard and we are proud of them!
