ABC Rhythm Project

Directions:

1. Copy your assigned lines from the Dr. Seuss ABC book onto your worksheet.
2. Use rhythmic notation to write down the rhythm patterns created by your lines in the poem.
3. Use the Counting Music Website (http://www.philtulga.com/counter.html) to test your rhythm patterns. Make any corrections to make your rhythm fit your lines of text.
4. Open this PowerPoint file:

    a. Type in your lines from the poem in the corresponding measure boxes.
    b. Use copy and paste to put the proper rhythm notation in the measure boxes.
    c. Save Your PowerPoint file to your Teacher Name Folder.

5. Select non-pitched percussion instruments to play your patterns.
6. Practice chanting and playing rhythms.
7. Use iMovie to make a video recording of your group chanting and playing your pattern.

We will show our finished videos to the Kindergarten classes!
